Global News in Toronto provides viewers with the top news updates and hyper-local coverage of stories, people and communities that matter most to GTA residents. This week it debuts Global News Morning Toronto hosted by Antony Robart (formerly co-anchor of Global News at 11) and Jennifer Valentyne, which offers viewers both global coverage as well as localized reporting from GTA residents.

Global News Morning is a Canadian television news program broadcast by Global Communications from Toronto. It airs weekdays from 6 AM to 9:00 AM ET.
Antony Robart and Candace Daniel host the show each week, interviewing a variety of guests such as celebrities, politicians and everyday people.
Global News Morning is broadcast nationwide on various networks of Global Communications, such as CBC and CTV. It uses an “L-frame” format similar to what CP24 uses, providing viewers with constant access to weather, traffic and business throughout the show.
Nightly News
Global TV’s Nightly News is Canada’s most watched nightly newscast and one of the top newscasts across all cable channels.
Global News is an independent broadcaster headquartered in Toronto that was founded by Peter Trueman and Peter Desbarats in 1974. At that time, there were two-person anchors: Desbarats from Ottawa and Trueman from Toronto.
In 1997, Global News officially adopted its current title. Prior to then, it had only been used for local newscasts on Global Ontario; other Canwest television stations all had different newscast titles.
In April 2022, Global launched their free-to-watch streaming service Global News 24/7. Initially available on both Global TV app and website, it was later extended to Amazon Prime Video as well. As of April 2022, this includes feeds from all Global stations (except Global New Brunswick and Durham), plus local feeds for BC, Toronto, Edmonton, and Calgary.
